For quite some time I’ve been looking for a good iTunes controller. Most of the ones I tried were either ugly or they just didn’t work the way I want them to. Well I finally found one that I like, and thanks to MacHeist it was free!
Aside from the name, CoverSutra is great. It has a few different ways of controlling iTunes. First is the Player Controls window [pictured above] that has just the right amount of controls at the click of a button. I set mine up so it comes up when I hit F2. Then there’s the global keyboard controls: Next song – Command-Control-Right Arrow, Pause – Command-Control-Space… My favorite? All of these controls are user customizable so if it interferes with something else, just change it.
A couple other nifty features. You can choose to show the album currently playing on your desktop, a nice out-of-the-way reminder of the pretty album artwork we designers love to look at. If you want, it can also have the song info and a pic of the album come up at song or album changes. It also has some other goodies, such as Apple Remote, Growl and last.fm support. Requires Mac OS X 10.4.7 or higher and iTunes 7.0.2 or higher.
Check out CoverSutra.

Hey, Rick!
What are you gonna get at caribou?
