Apple Releases Boot Camp

MacBook Pro with Windows
It seems funny that I’m writing about something right after April Fools that is just as unlikely as my little joke was.
Apple released some software today that allows their computers (only the Intels) to run XP with a dual boot, thus the name: Boot Camp.

I think it’s a great idea for Apple, and it’s gonna give them a much larger market than they have now, Their stock rose almost 10 percent today after the announcement. So many people will be able to dump their Windows machines now because their Mac will be able to run their Windows only software. My friend Nick is one of them.

There is, however, some cause for concern. I’m guessing a lot of people are gonna be getting Macs in the near future. With so many people starting to use OSX, it’s time for us Mac users to start thinking about security. I really don’t wanna worry about hackers. I like using a computer that doesn’t have problems with spyware or viruses.

Also, as Apple said, it will still be Windows you are running, kinks and all. And there will be no customer support from Cupertino if you have problems with Windows on your Mac.

Overall, I think it’s a great move for Apple, and a good solution for those who have that one application that needs Windows. I’m just not looking forward to the surge of new Apple users.

Microsoft Purchases Google

Microsoft Google SE
In a very strange turn of events, it seems that Microsoft has just purchased Google for a sum of $34 Billion. They seem to be launching a new branding campaign along with the purchase that will be effective immediately. So when you search, you will now be searching “Microsoft Google SE”
It seems that Microsoft was tired of trying to compete with Google in the search industry. Google’s search has long been the most used search, and Microsoft just couldn’t keep up with them.
“We kept trying to make our search better, but no one even blinked, they just pointed Internet Explorer to Google instead, so we decided to buy them” Said Bill Gates.
Well, I guess strange things can happen.
