Tomorrow (April 1st) is Apple’s 30th anniversary, so BBC thought it was a good time to write a quiz about them. How much do you know about Apple’s history? I got 8 out of 10.
A PHON REVW
I got a new phone, and I love it. Me and my girlfriend got a plan through T-Mobile and we both got the RAZR. It’s not as small as I thought it would be (my iPod is thinner), but It’s much smaller than my other phone was. The best feature by far is Bluetooth, I can transfer files wirelessly from my computer without even taking the phone out of my pocket. I can even manage my files through my computer, so if I need to delete some pictures I don’t need to manually delete them on the phone.
I also love the service. Before this I had Sprint — and terrible coverage, but now I can be pretty much anywhere and get 4-5 bars. I can even be in the basement of my house, a definite dead zone, and get five bars.
I just got a little screen cover for the big screen. I’m not a big fan of key marks on screens, so I thought I would try to cover it.
People say that the menus are slow on the phone, but they have been pretty fast for me. I know it’s new and I don’t have much on it, but I don’t tend to put a lot of stuff on my phone anyways so it probably won’t matter.
Now comes the part where I sound like a dork. I want to get a bluetooth headset for it, a couple of my friends have one and they’re really cool. I mainly talk on the phone when I’m in the car (so dangerous!), and it would be nice to have both hands free while I’m driving.
Two Weeks Notice
I’m giving my two weeks notice — that is, telling you that I’ve been at my job for two weeks. It has been pretty interesting going into full-time work. It seems like I haven’t had any time in the last two weeks to do anything. I’m not complaining though, I get paid pretty well, and I have work to do every day.
A New Start
Tomorrow will be a big day for me. I will be exiting self-employment, and entering a full-time job. It is bittersweet, but more towards the sweet side.
At 9 am I will be walking in a door I have never even seen–literally and figuratively. I was hired through Manpower Inc. to work at Fiskars (you know those orange scissers you probably have…) doing print design. I am not sure exactly what I will be doing, you see I was hired before I ever saw the place. Yes, that’s right! I got a call from Manpower saying they had a job for me and wanted me to start quickly.
It is a little sad for me because I will not have near as much time on my hands as I have had recently. I will still be doing freelance work, but not near the amount I have been doing. It will also take time away from working on this website, which is almost done.
It is not all bad though, I will be getting paid, and I will be working with a large, well known company. I am looking forward to it. Really.
Here it is!
Here is my new website. It isn’t quite finished, but what I do have I think is looking rather good. What do you think? Hopefully I will finish it soon, however if you know me that’s not too likely. You will know the site is finished when the disclaimer that is at the top of the page is gone. At that point you are free to go crazy telling me what’s not working. Until then please don’t tell me about stuff I need to fix. Thanks, I hope you like it!
