iPhone hints at the American way

So there are a few very funny things that I noticed about the iPhone. First, they are already selling on ebay for about $1000, while the Apple Store online has them in stock. Um, duh!
That’s not the real gem. You can use 2 credit cards to buy the iPhone. Seriously, I’m sure there are people out there who will max out more than one credit card all for a phone. Wow.
Why I won’t be getting an iPhone today
With all the coverage of everyone who will be throwing down a good chunk of change, I thought I’d go against the grain a bit. The iPhone looks really nice, there’s just a few things:
- They’re $600 - I don’t value my phone six hundred big ones.
- 8 GB - Not nearly enough space for my music and videos.
- Cingular Only - I’ve heard nothing good about their coverage in the Twin Cities.
How about you?
Apple WWDC Goodness

Announcements for today:
- Redesigned website - Very Nice! Check out the sliding bar on the Mac tab.
- Safari on Windows - This will be nice for when I must use a Windows box.
- Leopards redesigned UI - Just beautiful, I especially love the new desktop.
- Front Row UI ala iTV - I was wondering if they would do this.
- Quick Look - Looks very promising, can’t wait to see it in action.
- iPhone to have 3rd party apps - Uses Safari framework, a nice compromise.
- EA and ID coming back to Mac - Games on a Mac, will it last?
The beta of Safari is pretty nice so far:
- PDF preview in is now scalable, a very welcome change.
- You can change the size of text fields.
- There’s finally a warning when closing multiple tabs.
- It also warns about closing a window where you’ve entered info that will be lost.
- New Find feature, looks like the one Firefox uses but a bit prettier.
- Sadly, the Tiger version still uses brushed metal.
- Very intuitive tab rearranging.
